Since our official launch in 2015, the DCU has been proudly promoting cricket development across Germany and helping our country make it's name in the global cricketing community. Our values of transparency, innovation and leading by example are at the core of everything we do.
In just a few short months since our launch, our union has gained over 40 member clubs from across Germany. This level of membership growth is unprecedented in the sporting community.
The DCU began with the idea that a sporting union should be democratically run, in accordance with German sporting regulations and should represent the interests and preserve the rights of our members. Along with our key focus on youth cricket development, helping bring cricket to the mainstream and seek out young talent, we consider our union to be one run by players, for the players.
Traditionally, a national union's job is to arrange and organise league games for its member clubs. We’ve taken this one step further and hold international tournaments; provide investments for clubs to procure equipment, grounds access and grounds refurbishment; scout and intensively train up and coming talent; and take the cricket pitch to schools to get more kids involved in cricket.
All of this has meant a drastic change in the German cricketing sphere. Where once financial inefficiency and disorganised leadership was the norm, has now been replaced with an innovative, fast growing and driven national union.
